This past Friday night was once again Dumplings Night at The Rippon Hall. This was the third time we had invited the brilliant Tiff from Tiritiri Kitchen back to perform her dumpling magic, and she didn’t disappoint.

The Hall was transformed into an impromptu yet casual dining area, complete with roaring log fire, colourful lanterns and Asian tea bits & pieces, all adding to the relaxed vibe.

The menu was too delicious to give it full literary justice here, so instead of a thousand words – here it is (in all its glory):

Dumpling Set Menu

Peanuts in chilli & black vinegar

Laksa soup with prawn & bamboo shoot dumplings.

Eggplant and black vinegar mini buns. 2 pieces

Thai Sago dumplings with mint, garlic oil & chilli served on a lettuce leaf.  2 piece

Pork and cabbage water dumplings served in tangy dipping sauce. 3 each. Served with sides of mixed greens with oyster ginger sauce, rice & green papaya salad

Steamed ginger puddings served coconut custard and sesame snaps.

Personal favourites include the laksa soup, and Thai Sago dumplings- delivious delicious delicious.

With the relaxed, constant flow of courses and a special Rippon wine list to match,, the evening flowed by, with locals & visitors to Wanaka alike mingling and having a right lovely time.
